During law school orientation, Carter took a chance. He struck up a conversation with the beautiful girl sitting behind him, and the conversation went surprisingly well. Ashlyn and Carter crossed paths a few times during orientation week (not accidentally). By the end of the week, the two were floating on inner tubes in the lake behind Carter's house, while Maisy did leaps off the dock and into Ashlyn's heart.

A romance began to blossom. By the end of the first semester, Ashlyn and Carter had been on many dates, from picnics on the James River to sushi dates at Fighting Fish. Carter dragged Ashlyn around the woods, while she tortured him with spicy food.

By the end of law school, their love had no doubts. Ashlyn and Carter moved to Virginia Beach to start their lives together, and they couldn't wait to make forever official. Carter proposed to Ashlyn at their favorite sunset location on the Eastern Shore. Neither a day full of driving after the Bar Exam nor a lightning storm could stop the two from getting engaged.

Today, Ashlyn and Carter are building their life in Virginia Beach — enjoying beach days with friends and boating around the Lynnhaven River with Maisy. Their love continues to grow, and they cannot wait to celebrate the beginning of forever with everyone in Asheville on August 22nd.
